He researched for a year and a half at the University of Tokyo with Japanese grant from the Ministry of Culture. Developed the first existing model of cerebral thalamus learning. Based on this research developed a new treatment for specific phobias without patient exposure to the phobic stimulus. Along with his students, has developed neural network models to simulate Alzheimer’s disease, muscular hypertension in people with brain or spinal cord injury and to simulate the illusion of movement in still images.
