Palestra: The League of SensesA Glance at Multisensory Integration

In our daily life, the integration of different sensory modalities are effortless and automatic. Understanding how this integration happens has been the main topic of many studies for decades. Our brain integrates the information from the sensory systems to a coherent “object” and/or segregates it into multiple “objects”. In this seminar, we will discuss theories of multisensory integration and temporal factors involved in this process. Temporal expectation, for example, was found to affect differently uni- and multisensory process. We will try to answer some question as how it works and why it is important.
