How do I join a course as a special student?
Those who wish to enroll as a special student must follow the procedure available at this link.

What is the program classification in CAPES?
Grade 4 to  Master and Doctoral degree.

Is there scholarships?
The program offers institutional scholarships. The number of scholarships is limited and depends on several factors. It is advisable to contact potential advisors to design a research project and submit a scholarship application to FAPESP.

How much is the value of scholarship?
The value of institutional scholarship offered by UFABC is R$ 1,282.50 and R$ 1,900 monthly for the master’s and doctorate, respectively.

What are the career prospects?
The masters and doctors trained by the program can find employment in research institutes (basic research in various areas of neuroscience); teaching hospitals (diseases-oriented research); Pharmaceutical and medical industry (research and development); Industry, science and health sectors; clinics related to neuropsychology.

I am not Brazilian and do not reside in Brazil. I passed the program, but I did not have time enough to issue a student visa and come to Brazil in time to enroll the program. What do I do?
Exceptionally, where justified and proven, the program Coordination may authorize enrollment after the deadline.

When are received the registrations for the program?
The Master program offers two intakes per year. Registrations occur in October/November and June/July. The Doctorate program registrations occur in October/November, February/March and June/July.

Must I have a project or a prior acceptance of a supervisor to subscribe for selection process?
We suggest that candidates come into contact with potential advisors to check on their availability for advice and the existence of research projects in the desired areas.

Can I be accepted if there is no research line of my interest?
No, you must have an advisor in your research line interest to be accepted.

I work part-time. Can I apply for the program?
Yes. However, you will have more difficulty in reconciling postgraduate activities with work and you cannot receive a scholarship.

How much is the course?
The course and the selection process are free.

I graduated in a degree that does not have focus in neuroscience (eg pedagogy, economics, law, engineering, etc.). Can I take the course?
Yes. However, graduates in courses related to neuroscience and cognition, such as health sciences, natural sciences (biology, physics and chemistry), psychology and sciences will find it easier than graduates in courses not related.

I graduated in BC & T. Do I need to graduate in the course of Neuroscience before joining the program?
No.

In which language the subjects will be taught?
Portuguese. Some courses may be offered in English. This decision rests with the teacher responsible for discipline.

Is there student housing?
No. But there are several republics of students near the university.

I still didn’t complete all credits in my undergraduate course. Can I sign up?
Yes, but in the moment to enroll the course is necessary to present an official certificate of course completion at the undergraduate level.

What are the hours of the disciplines?
The course is daytime.

Can I participate in courses as a listener?
Yes, since provided consent of the teacher and course coordinator.
