Research on Social Games

If you are a Pokemon Go player, we would like to invite you to participate in our research!

The title of our study is “Effects of playing Pokemon Go on everyday life“. This research is conducted by Dr Tanja S. H. Wingenbach in collaboration with Dr Yossi Zana, Federal University of ABC, Sao Bernardo do Campo, Sao Paulo, Brasil. Aim of the study is to investigate the effects of playing Pokemon Go on everyday life.

Participation is voluntary and also plain and simple, as it is a survey asking questions about your playing habits alongside some more personal questions. Most of the time, you just click on your answer choice. Do not worry, all data will be treated confidentially and we would never pass on your data. We are also not interested in individual answers.

If you follow the link provided below, you will be led to a consent form, which you have to read and ‘sign’ to be eligible for participation. It is necessary to provide your name and a valid email address on the consent form. Though, the consent form is separate from the actual survey. The answers in the survey are anonymous.

You will find the link to the Pokemon Go survey at the end of the consent form. You will be sent the consent form to your email address.

Please make sure you set aside 30 minutes before starting the survey. We would appreciate if you avoid any distractions during that time, including other activities and noise in the area, to obtain the best results. As compensation for your time, we will conduct a prize draw. A voucher for Poke coins in the value of USD 10,- (or the currency of your choice) will be given per 100 participants.

This research is independent of financial funding agencies. There is no economical interest involved. The research is also independent from the creators/marketing of Pokemon Go.

Thank you for your participation and have fun with the survey!
